Couple's Wood-Inlay Map Making Workshop in San Francisco, California For Sale

Learn the art of fine wood marquetry while collaborating on a bespoke Woodcut Map based on one of your favorite places. Add it to your own art collection, or give it as a gift!
Upon booking, you'll be asked to specify any location on the planet. Recommended locations include hometowns, cherished vacation spots, university campuses, and locations of major life events like proposals, weddings, and births.
IMPORTANT: Please note that if you do not specify which location you'd like to base your map on at least 48 hours before the class, you will be creating a lovely map of San Francisco.
In advance of the workshop, Woodcut Maps will verify your map design and lasercut the necessary wood veneers just for you.
The 2-3 hour workshop takes place in Woodcut Maps' sunny Bayview-based studio. During the workshop, under our supervision, you'll hand inlay the wood pieces, adhere the veneers to the substrate, sand the artwork flat, and finish your artwork. Near the end of the workshop, sip on a glass of wine, beer or juice while everyone waits for the finish to dry and shares the stories behind their maps.
Every attendee leaves with a beautiful handcrafted piece of original map artwork that is ready to hang (9"w/h x 16"h/w x 0.375"d).
Cost of workshop includes all professional design fees, materials, beverage and instruction.
