Universal Electric Bike Powerpack motors with rollers - D.I.Y.
Go Farther with Industrial Strength.....
Aluminum and stainless steel construction for corrossion resistant durability and fits all bike types with standard brakes having a 1/4 inch mounting hole (most bmx and mountain bikes ) . The powerpack does not fit on some slim profile street racing bikes. The powerpack can push the bike up to 20 mph , and will also function as a brake. When braking with the powerpack , a backfeed current from the DC motors will be generated allowing for reverse charging for your batteries. Powerpack is Adjustable and Replaceable to accomodate any bike and uses the existing brake hole for quick installation.
For standard 1/4 inch bolt type brakes , just remove your brakes and the powerpack installs in seconds with a single wing nut. Add your own DC battery from ebay and your ready to ride. When locking up your bike , take the powerpack with you. Just loosen the wing nut and remove it in seconds.
For bicycles with inline brakes , see pic for an alternative reversed installation that will allow you to keep your brakes installed.
Electric Bike Powerpack Specs:

Benefits over other e-bike and hub motor kits
1) Quickly installable and removable on virtually any bike

3) Lighter and less noticeable, so your electric powered bike will still look like a bike
4) All components easily replaceable for long life and continued use.
Powerpack Only and does not include bike. Also requires a battery pack of your choosing. Any of the e-bike batteries on ebay will work with this unit.
Single motor units may be easily upgraded to a dual motor for added power.
Motors sometimes differ in appearance but the voltage and watt rating is as listed.
F.A.Q.
1) Are the motors geared at all? And is there a limit to there maximum sustained current before over heating. If they are not geared I imagine some pedal input and speed is required before engaging the motor power?
ANSWER: Gearing is not required and is implemented by the powerpack rollers engaging with the bike rim and that gives a 1:10 ratio , which gives good power response.
2) If these units can sustain over 20 mph they will be ideal here in New Zealand where we have 300 W max legal limit. Similar to Australia I think and Europe 250W.
ANSWER: Yes it can. Speeds may vary with weight of rider and hills.
3)Can you tell me what magnet type? Not they I know much about all this tech; but have read something about rare earth magnets being superior in some way. Are the brush's relatively easy to replace ?
ANSWER: Permanent magnet motors give more power for the size and are not always better. The two motors are permanent magnet brushed type.
4) I understand the units are designed primarily for the 26" wheel but may also work with 700c wheel so long as open space is over 11/2". My GT has 26" wheels.
ANSWER: The bike powerpack works with almost all bikes with a standard brake hole. Rim size can change the gear ratio a small amount but it is not significant unless you have a 22" BMX where you will have a higher top speed because the rim is smaller.
5) So I'm very fit cyclist mostly on the flat but if I ride hills not too steep a good amount of pedaling to maintain speed will be required to maintain the motor efficiency. The motor performance has good speed at high rpm but not a great amount of torque at lower rpm?
ANSWER: The 500 watt bike powerpack is ideal for climb in hilly terrain. For flat terrain with few hills the 350 watt is good. And for areas that are relatively flat everywhere the 250 watt is ideal.
6)Does your ebike kits come with a throttle?
ANSWER: Yes. It uses the standard Red/Green/Black three wire hand grip throttle.
7)Do you have brushless motors for the electric bike kit? ANSWER: No. Small brushless motors are relatively expensive and for the bike powerpack to be more affordable , brushed permanent magnet motors are used. Also , the wiring is more simple. Permanent magnet brushed are more efficient than standard(Non-Magnet) brushed motors.
