This opportunity will be based in San Francisco, CA.
Reporting to Bombardier Capital Incorporated (BCI), the CRT Avionics Technician will travel to customers' aircraft to perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspection, modification, and services of aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment. Perform and document all work completed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required. Will also be required to assist the A and P CRT Technician where applicable. Working conditions include considerable travel and extended assignments within region and frequent face to face contact with customers.
In your role, you will:
: Inspect incoming paperwork to ensure accuracy of part number and serial number and determine work to be performed
: Conduct research and obtain applicable maintenance manuals, technical manuals, engineering documents, and/or test equipment
: Conduct preliminary inspection for damage and cleanliness and verify modification status and conformity
: Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, rebuilding, overhauling and parts requisitioning of aircraft avionics electrical systems
: Assist in performing functional testing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, rebuilding overhauling and parts requisitioning of aircraft avionics electronic, radio and instrument systems
: Perform return:to:service testing of aircraft avionics systems, complete necessary paperwork as required, and inspect paperwork for completeness
: Fabricate, perform routine maintenance and certification of test equipment and/or ground support equipment (GSE) as required
: May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
: Ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering documents, and maintenance manuals
: Ability to operate and interpret aircraft avionics test/diagnostic equipment
: Ability to solder
: Basic knowledge of aircraft electronics and instrumentation theory
: Ability to use small hand tools, for example, tweezers and eyeloops
: Ability to operate Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and interpret results
: Basic knowledge of applicable parts of chapter 14 CFR (FARs), Quality System Manuals, and Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
: Ability to recognize potential electrical hazards in order to prevent injury to self and/or others
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate you will meet the following requirements:
: You have a minimum of 3 years A/C avionics work experience
: You have avionics technical training
: You have experience with aircraft return to service and inspection procedures
: You own a basic set of hand tools
: You can read and understand electrical engineering drawings
: You have the ability to effectively and accurately communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status with customers at all levels
: You must be able to work frequent unscheduled overtime including weekends and holidays
: You have the ability to work in seasonal/inclement weather
: You must be available for considerable travel and extended assignments within region
: You must be available to attend new hire training for up to a 3 month period outside of home base location (training will take place in Tucson, AZ)
: You have interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned employees, other business areas, contractors, and customers
: You must be able to obtain a valid CDL Class "B" drivers' license
: You have the ability to work alone and unsupervised
