Reclaimed Bowling Alley Community Tables in San Francisco, California For Sale
We have salvaged a number of bowling alley lanes from the xxxxs.
The one feature piece from these each of these lanes contains hard maple lumber strips which dovetail into antique pine lumber strips and some excellent inlaid black walnut arrows. We call it the Lebowski. These 42" slabs make excellent conference tables, boardroom tables, community tables, dining tables, big desks, restaurant booths and bar counters. We have previously made them up to 16' long.
We spend about 20 hours per raw slab turning these babies into finished tabletops. We remove the super hard bowling alley finish (it's a serious undertaking) , and surface both sides completely flat. We then rout steel angle iron laterally every two feet along the underside of the table for stability. We then replace any damaged strips (with additional planks from the same alley). Then we epoxy any holes or gaps for a nice smooth surface. We then finish both sides in one of two super premium finishes. It took many tries to perfect the process and we are experts at maximizing the look and utility of these slabs.
We can rout holes for tabletop electrical outlets or wire management grommets to your specifications.
Many good base options available in metal.
We're located in the east coast. (Sorry I entered a local zip code because CL insisted) You can see our work at Starbelly SF in the Castro neighborhood. .
Happy to speak to all interested parties. These are pretty cool pieces. alexi @ silverroot.com xxxxxxxx71
