Always garaged and never used as a work truck. 350 V8 (5.7L) was rebuilt at about 100,000 miles with Edelbrock headers, and Custom Cowl Induction Hood (steel), Alpine Stereo Deck, Powerful Amp, 6-CD changer, and upgraded speakers. New in the past year: Flowmaster Cat-back Exhaust with Chrome Dual tips, Catalytic Converter, Alternator, Fuel Pump, Starter, All Belts, Header Gaskets, Tires, Front Brake Pads and Rotors, AC Converted to 134 and Recharged, Battery, Tow Hitch, Custom Paint (metallic black with a hint of brown). The 88-98 GMC and Chevy xxxx trucks were a huge hit for GM and are still wildly popular today. A drastic difference between the third-generation (xxxxxxxx) and fourth-generation (xxxx-xxxx) GM trucks was the suspension; the fourth-generation GM trucks used all independent front suspensions (IFS). To enhance durability the trucks featured extensive use of galvanized steel for corrosion resistance and a fully welded frame with a boxed front section for strength and rigidity. The "New Generation" C/Ks entered xxxx as the best-sellers in GMs lineup. Numerous changes were seen. Extensive changes took place in the brake system. The parking brake cable was protected by revised routing and a new shield. To cut noise, a molded, semi-metallic brake lining was used. This truck runs great and has a nice exhaust note that does not drone. No squeaks or rattles; no rust except minor chasssis rust.
